In summer 2020 The Stone Alphabet have recorded an extensive series of pieces and is releasing a selection of those on their first recording "alpha". The sequence of 14 "takes" in changing instrumentation (duos, trios, quartets and quintets) is composed as a cycle. The focus is put on many different stone instruments, which are brought to the forefront through different contextualities. All compositions have been written by the participating musicians and the titles of the compositions refer to names of stones in alphabetical order.
